Ermmm! Something Sphere!

You might have guessed from my title I have no idea what this thing is called! Nige says its a something sphere, but he can't say what! So if you know please tell me so I can put a googling hubby out of his misery!

Its the start of a new challenge over at My Time To Craft today & we have the dreaded theme of

I had this stamp set free with (I think) the Docrafts magazine, maybees last month & its sat there staring at me. As I had no papers to match I had to get the 'Chronology' stack by Papermania & they are gorgeous!

My man says it is a Gyroscope for navigating the stars or something to do with navigating the moon and stars, I hope Nige isn't still stuck to google trying to work it out lol.
